Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about chessfeed
General
chessfeed is an AI-powered chess coaching platform that analyzes your games, explains your decisions, and helps you improve with personalized insights. It's like having a grandmaster coach available 24/7.
Traditional engines show evaluations and best moves, but chessfeed's AI coach explains WHY moves are good or bad, identifies recurring patterns in your play, and delivers coaching in clear, conversational language. The goal is to help you learn and improve — not just show you the answer.
chessfeed connects with Chess.com and Lichess for automatic game imports, and also accepts PGN file uploads. Any game you can export to PGN — from any platform or tournament — can be analyzed in chessfeed.
Not at all. chessfeed is built for players of all levels, from beginners learning how pieces move to advanced club players preparing for tournaments. The AI coaches adapt their explanations to your current level.

Features & Functionality
Take a photo of your handwritten scoresheet from a tournament or casual game, and our AI converts it to PGN format automatically. It recognizes standard chess notation across most handwriting styles. You can review and correct the moves before running analysis.
Yes! You can switch coaches anytime, even mid-conversation. Each of our 12 coaches has a distinct personality and teaching style — some are strategic and methodical, others are blunt and tactical. Try them all to find the voice that clicks with you.
chessfeed provides move-by-move Stockfish engine analysis, move classification (Best, Good, Inaccuracy, Mistake, Blunder), evaluation graphs, opening identification with ECO codes, AI-generated narrative insights, and forked line exploration so you can investigate what would have happened with an alternative move.
Teaching Mode provides deeper, GM-level strategic explanations for each key moment in your game. Instead of quick summaries, you get thorough positional reasoning, long-term plans, and concrete improvement suggestions. It's ideal for serious learners who want to build real chess understanding.
chessfeed detects positions in your own games where you missed tactics, blundered, or misjudged the position. These moments are turned into interactive puzzles so you practice the exact situations you personally struggle with — far more effective than generic puzzle sets.
Yes. We currently offer 6 English-speaking coaches and 6 Hindi-speaking coaches, each fluent in chess terminology and the nuances of their language. More languages are planned based on community demand.
Yes. You can analyze any game — including your opponents' — to study their patterns, prepare for upcoming matches, or simply learn from how strong players handle certain positions.
AI Coach & Learning
chessfeed's AI coach doesn't just tell you what to do — it explains why. It understands chess concepts, opening theory, middlegame patterns, and endgame principles, and communicates them the way a human coach would: patiently and in plain language. Every explanation is tied to your actual game, not generic advice.
Yes. The AI identifies recurring patterns across your games — tactical blindness, poor time management, endgame errors, or positional misjudgements. It surfaces these patterns and creates targeted exercises and explanations to address exactly where you're losing points.
chessfeed is designed to complement human coaching, not replace it. It gives you on-demand, deeply personalized analysis available any time of day. A human coach still brings motivation, live board work, and relationship — many serious players use both.
