Refund Policy

Because chessfeed.ai offers a comprehensive free tier to evaluate the platform, all paid subscriptions are considered final and non-refundable.
1. Refund Eligibility
Paid subscription charges for Club, Pro, Elite, and Enterprise plans are final. Refunds are not provided except for the limited accidental upgrade exception described in Section 2.
2. Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for a refund, the following conditions must be met:
2.1 Accidental Upgrade Exception
Accidental upgrades are eligible for a refund only if requested within 48 hours of purchase and only when there has been zero usage of premium features, including 0 premium game analyses and 0 AI coach messages.
2.3 Account Status
Your account must be in good standing. Accounts that have violated our Terms of Service or engaged in fraudulent activity are not eligible for refunds.
2.4 First-Time Refunds Only
Refund consideration applies to your first subscription only. Subsequent renewals, plan upgrades, or new subscriptions after a previous refund are generally not eligible for refunds unless there are technical issues on our end.
3. What's NOT Eligible for Refunds
The following are not eligible for refunds:
- Subscription Renewals: Automatic renewals (you can cancel before the next renewal date to avoid charges)
- Partial Month Refunds: No prorated refunds for cancellations mid-billing cycle (service continues until period ends)
- Free Plan: The free plan has no charges and is not subject to refunds
- Academy/Enterprise Plans: Custom plans have separate terms outlined in individual agreements
- Chargebacks: If you initiate a chargeback with your payment provider before contacting us, your account may be suspended and you will not be eligible for future services
- Platform Issues: Issues with third-party platforms (Chess.com, Lichess) that are outside our control
- User Error: Incorrect plan selection or misunderstanding of features (we encourage using the free plan first to try before subscribing)
4. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, please follow these steps:
Contact Support
Email us at ops@chessfeed.ai with the subject line "Refund Request".
Provide Information
Include the following in your email:
- Your registered email address
- Subscription plan name (Club, Pro, Elite, or Academy)
- Purchase date and transaction ID (if available)
- Brief reason for the refund request (optional but helpful)
Review Process
Our support team will review your request and verify your usage metrics (game imports and AI coach interactions) to determine eligibility within 24-48 hours.
Refund Processing
If approved, refunds are processed via Razorpay and are sent back to your original payment method. It may take 5-10 business days for the amount to reflect in your bank account. Approved refunds are processed in the original currency of purchase, and chessfeed.ai is not responsible for currency exchange rate fluctuations, foreign transaction fees, or other banking charges.
5. Subscription Cancellations & Downgrades
5.1 Subscription Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation:
- Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period
- You will continue to have access to paid features until the period expires
- No credits or prorations are issued for the remaining days in the current billing cycle
- Your subscription will not automatically renew
5.2 Downgrades
If you downgrade from a higher plan (e.g., Master to Student) mid-billing cycle:
- The downgrade takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle
- No prorated credits are issued for the current cycle
- You retain access to the higher-tier features until the current period ends
6. Exceptional Circumstances
In certain exceptional circumstances, we may offer refunds outside of our standard policy:
- Service Outages: Extended periods of service unavailability due to technical issues on our end
- Billing Errors: Duplicate charges or incorrect amounts charged
- Feature Removal: Removal of core features that significantly impact your subscription value
These are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Please contact our support team to discuss your situation.
7. Academy and Enterprise Plan Refunds
Academy and Enterprise plans have custom pricing and terms. Refund policies for these plans are outlined in the individual service agreements signed by the organization. Please refer to your contract or contact your account manager for refund inquiries.
For Academy plan demos and trials, we recommend scheduling a demonstration call before committing to ensure the platform meets your institution's needs.
8. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
⚠ Important Notice
Please contact us directly before initiating a chargeback with your bank or payment provider. Chargebacks damage our payment processing relationships and incur fees.
If you initiate a chargeback without first attempting to resolve the issue with us:
- Your account will be immediately suspended pending investigation
- You may be permanently banned from using chessfeed.ai Services
- You will not be eligible for refunds or future subscriptions
- We may pursue legal action to recover losses from fraudulent chargebacks
9. Changes to This Refund Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Material changes will be communicated via email to active subscribers. Your continued use of paid Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Refund Policy.
10. EU and UK Users
If you reside in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you acknowledge that our Services consist of digital content provided immediately upon subscription. By subscribing and accessing the paid features, you expressly consent to the immediate performance of the contract and acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal.
